چکیده

Based on extensive field collections (2000-2014) in Kazakhstan and a review of the material in the National Institute of Zoology of Kazakhstan, we identified 68 species of aquatic Hemiptera from 11 families. Most species have broad zoogeographic distribution, dominated by West Eurasian fauna (18 species) and West Palearctic fauna (10 species). Details of habitats, feeding types, and life history are included for the described species.

The Distribution of Aquatic Bugs (hemiptera-heteroptera) in Scotland

There are 63 species of aquatic bugs in Britain, of which 37 are listed as occurring in Scotland (Savage 1989). A preliminary report to Scottish Natural Heritage on the distribution of aquatic bugs in Scotland, supplemented by records for 1997 (Huxley 1997a, 1998), lists 45 (possibly 46) species, albeit a few in this list are very rare or may not still occur. In this article I summarize the fin...

Four New Records of Gerroidea (hemiptera: Heteroptera) from Madhya Pradesh, India

Aquatic insects contribute significantly to freshwater ecosystems, forming food for many organisms, particularly in the food webs associated with wetland environments. Many fishes, amphibians, shorebirds, waterfowl, and other animals forage heavily on both the aquatic and terrestrial stages of aquatic insects, which are essential to their survival. It is estimated that about 3 % of the total in...

Mitochondrial phylogenomics of Hemiptera reveals adaptive innovations driving the diversification of true bugs

Hemiptera, the largest non-holometabolous order of insects, represents approximately 7% of metazoan diversity. With extraordinary life histories and highly specialized morphological adaptations, hemipterans have exploited diverse habitats and food sources through approximately 300 Myr of evolution. To elucidate the phylogeny and evolutionary history of Hemiptera, we carried out the most compreh...
